About Us

We say hello when you walk in but we don’t breathe down your neck. We know that you like to look, that you’ve got things on your mind; when you’re ready, we’re happy to talk to you.

We really know our stuff: ask us anything about our furniture or contemporary design. We are specialized because we sell only one collection: Ligne Roset. Other stores carry many collections and it's hard for their staff to know the details and specifics of 50 different lines.

We go to the factories in France and watch and learn how each piece is crafted. We meet our designers who flesh out their reasoning behind the design of each model. The beauty of each piece becomes more logical, more apparent when we learn about it.

We offer interior design services. We'll help you transform your home. Bring us your floor plans, or let us come over. We'll layout your furniture, we'll be honest, and on the occasions when we don't have the thing to make you really happy, we’ll tell you where you might find it.

Ligne Roset France has been making furniture since the late 1800's. Now it's the largest European exporter of contemporary furniture. Everything is made in France, OK, some rugs are manufactured in Germany and India, some lighting is made in Switzerland, and the amazing hinges on our doors and other hardware come from Germany. (By the way, from Ligne Roset to B&B and Interlübke, we all use the same and the best hardware manufacturer.)

Ligne Roset in Georgetown opened on December 1st 2000. We were kind of lonely in what now is the bustling design strip of Washington. We love children and play with them in our store. We try to remember to have treats for your pets. There are always news additions to the line, new colors, new fabrics, new technology but we also stick with the classics. Michel Ducaroy designed TOGO in 1973, Peter Maly designed the MALY bed in 1983; these quintessential Roset pieces are in our store, in our ads, in our homes: still best sellers. We don’t sell off the floor, but we carry stock: that means that you can get some items in about a week. Come visit us and see how time-proven quality and cutting edge design coexist.
